Radio Team
On 12th March 2020, I completed the 3pm radio bulletin. This involved deciding what stories to include, the running order, making sure we had all audio clips necessary from our journalists, and presenting. The Radio team included myself, another third year student, and a second year student.

During the day, I completed two telephone interviews, and edited these ready to be used in the 1pm and 3pm radio bulletins. When a group was busy filming for TV, I decided to contact the correct people and organise an interview for myself, with the help from others in the newsroom, otherwise I knew we would not have enough content for the radio bulletins. One of the interviews was confirmed 15 minutes before I conducted it, so it was important I quickly made sure I knew enough about the story and prepared a few questions before calling the interviewee. I made sure I got back and edited some clips together ready for the 1pm bulletin, so my colleague had content as well.

On 12th March, Boris Johnson made a public announcement after the Cobra meeting on the coronavirus. This meant we had updates every ten minutes, and therefore had to keep checking to see if there was anything worth mentioning in the bulletins to keep it up to date. We kept an eye on this for the 1pm and 3pm. As the morning bulletin was only 2 minutes, we did not check for updates much as we did not include a lot detail.

I thought my bulletin went really well and we had a variety of stories and sound bites to play. My presenting was good, however next time I will remember to bring my glasses into the studio as I could not make the text bigger on iNEWS so struggled to read the script sometimes. Overall, it was a good bulletin with interviews and a live guest.
